MTN Ghana’s data subscribers shoot up to 11.2 million…

MTN Ghana has officially become the country’s leading 4G operator with over 11.2 million data subscribers , of which 370,000 are 4G customers.
Besides, MTN’s 4G service is available nationwide in all the regional capitals and key towns.
However, as part of its efforts of creating more awareness and also promoting the inherent benefits of mobile broadband data, the company launched an annual month-long Internet Festival dubbed: “iFest.
Speaking at this year’s iFest celebration which was held in Accra, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), of MTN Ghana Mr. Ebenezer Twum Asante, noted that the initiative is in line with their vision to lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to their customers.
“The internet as we know, has become the nerve Centre of many activities in our personal and professional lives.

We have moved from era of simply using the internet to send and receive emails to where a substantial part of lives are linked to our smart mobile devices.

These services are even more convenient with high speed internet access”, he stated.
According to him, in spite of the growth, there are still many Ghanaians who are yet to experience the benefits of the internet. That is reason we need the iFest education drive.
“MTN’s 4G is the first and only 4G service that enables users to experience higher-speed mobile internet on the same mobile phone from which they make and receive voice calls.

With faster internet, the transmission of data in the form of text, images or video/TV can be done with ease, on-the-go, and the best speeds.
Higher speed internet promotes business growth and enriched social lives, ultimately boosting national development.
Our cherished and valued customers, if you haven’t already done so, you can check the compatibility of your device with MTN 4G by dialing *585#.
Once you confirm compatibility, we urge you to buy an MTN 4G SIM card and SWAP to 4G from the comfort of your home or office by dialing *512# and following the prompts”, he explained
According to Mr. Asante, several programmes have been outlined to make this year’s iFest exciting one.

This year’s iFest, will be crowned with Digital Fairs in Accra and Kumasi to expose you to new ways of living the connected, digital lifestyle.
Other activities to be taken include Facebook Live sessions with your favorite personalities discussing various topics with you online.

There are a lots of giveaways and prizes to grab in the various iFest competitions such as Video contest on social media and online games contest. This year’s iFest was themed: “Living a connected life”. As it also marked the seventh edition since it was launched in September 2010.
