The Executive Director of the National Women’s Forum(NWF), Mrs. Diana Heymann-Adu said the health of women is a priority of her organization, to the home, society, community and the nation at large.

“The health of women is a priority of our  organization because anytime a woman falls sick in the home everything comes to a standstill.”

Mrs. Diana Heymann-Adu made this known on the sideline of a free health screening exercise conducted by her outfit which saw multitudes of women and children at Nungua, a suburb of Accra screened of diseases such as Hypertension, Diabetes including eye screening, breast screening  among others.

The National Women’s Forum (NWF) was established in 1995 as the Gender Awareness Foundation (GENAF) by a group of journalist who hold the welfare of women at the core of their objectives.

Mrs. Diana Heymann-Adu further noted women are the pillar of the home, society, community and the nation at large therefore ought to be given the best of care and attention needed to grow.

She also underscored the need for women to be empowered physically, spiritually and health wise and above all with leadership roles so they can contribute their quota meaningfully to the development of the society as well as the nation at large.

Mrs. Diana Heymann-Adu used the occasion to appeal to the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Mrs. Otiko Djaba to come down to the  grassroots level and help empower women.
