Police must bring killers of Ahmed Hussein-Suale to book


The  NDC Greater Accra Zongo Caucus Coordinator,  Hon. Ismaila Ali Horoya has called on  the police heirachy to do its best to bring the killers of Ahmed Suale Hussein to book.

Ahmed Hussein Suale until his untimely death was a an undercover investigative journalist working for the Tiger Eye publications led by Anas Armiyawo Ana’s.

The late journalist who was a key member of the Tiger Eye group was murdered by unknown gunmen, late Wednesday night  when he was on his way home. He was shot three times, according to reports.

Mr. Horoya who described the act as barbaric called on the police to  up its game to ensure the safety of individuals and businesses in Ghana.

He bemoaned the latest attacks by the police  and unidentified persons Zongo indigenes which mostly results in death of innocent persons.

He cited the Zongo Seven incidence that occurred in the Ashanti Region not long ago when seven persons from the Kumasi Zongo were mistakenly killed by the police.

“This time around we call on the government  and the law enforcement agencies to ensure that those behind this barbaric act are brought to book to serve as deterrent to others”.

He also blamed the Assin North MP, hon. Ken Agyapon who recently called for the late journalist to be beaten .

Hon. Horoya,  said that the statement by the MP might had instigated the killing of the journalist by the unidentified gunmen.

“If he comes here, beat him,” Mr Agyapong says in video published on news site Ghana Web. “Whatever happens, I’ll pay.”

The NDC regional executive member however cautioned the people from taking the laws into their own hands.

“We should allow the appropriate institutions to handle the matter”.

” We must not take the law into our own hands even though we are not happy at the latest attacks and killings of our people “.

In a defiant social media post Mr Anas said he would not be silenced after the murder of his team member.

Mr Hussien-Suale was shot twice in the chest and once in the neck in the Accra suburb of Madina at about 23:00 GMT on Wednesday night, reports say.
