Melcom launches scratch and win promo to mark 30th anniversary
Melcom Group, a leading retail trading company in Ghana has launched a promo known as ‘Scratch and Win’ to mark 30-years anniversary in business in the country.
The launch also form part of the corporate social responsibilities of the company to make customers feel better and visualize the need to shop at Melcom.
The Head of Communications at the Group Company, Godwin Avenorgbo, who spoke on behalf of the chairman disclosed that Melcom was set up as a single shop in the year 1989 in Ghana and now has metamorphous into Group of companies due to hard work and leadership drive.
He said the Group company has set up subsidiaries such as Crown Star Electronic Industry Limited, Century Plastic injection moulding company and Melcom Travel and Tours Limited which provides speedy and efficient services to customers across the World.
Gordon Avenogbor indicated that as part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities to national development and plans to celebrate the 30-years anniversary, Melcom Group of companies has taken the initiative to support 10 schools in 3 regions to improve water and sanitation facilities.
“ it is sad situation to observe that some of these schools don’t even have toilets facilities whiles others are non functional which ranges from primary through secondary to tertiary.”
“we therefore taken the opportunity to improve on some of these facilities in 10 schools in 3 regions such as Greater Accra, Volta and Eastern regions and also assist some deprived communities with bore holes” he added.
He again disclosed that Melcom Group of Companies would develop a scholarship scheme to train the youths in entrepreneurship at various Universities.
He added, the company would also sponsor a nationwide blood donation campaign to increase the blood stock at the blood bank end of this year.
“ as humanitarian gesture, we will continue to support the psychiatric hospital feeding programme under the Indian Association and assist the Autism children as well.” he said.
The Communication Director explained that the promo would be hosted within 9 weeks period which takes effect from 1st of July to 31st August, 2019.
This shows that every GHc 100.00 worth of items bought at any of the Melcom shops guarantees the customer to receive a voucher with a secret code which would be send to short code 1788 on the scratch card.
He added that lots of souvenirs such 30 brand new Renault, 30 Bajaj motor cycles, 30 LENOVO laptops, 30 Akai freezers, 30 gift vouchers valued at GHc 1000.00, 30 Sumsung mobile Galaxy, 30 Akai microwave among others which would be distributed to all the shopping centers across the country.
“ this promo would be taken under the guidance of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) to ensure fair distribution of winners who will be picked from all parts of the country in five zones through the weekly draws.” he noted.
According to him, staff of Melcom Group of Companies are disqualified from participating in the promo to ensure transparency and fairness but would reward the staff for their outstanding performance in September this year.
